Betting
Tax - What
is
it?
As from 6th October
2001 Betting Tax to the Customer will not be taken. The Bookmaker will
still pay Betting Tax to The Government but this will be from their profits
and not from customers directly.
Starting
Prices -
Where do they come from?
The SP, as it is
known, is the official price of each horse. It is calculated by an odds
compiler at the race track by taking the average price of each selection
running from the on-course Bookmakers.
The price reflects the amount of money placed on each entry. The more money
placed on. The smaller the price will become. Taking this into account you
may prefer to 'fix' the price when placing the bet, instead of waiting for
the fluctuating S.P (but beware it can work both ways!) We also offer odds
on selected races in the morning which can be taken before the course
betting starts.
As and independant
Bookmaker Robinsons can offer the BEST morning price available.
How can I
obtain a price on a paricular sporting event?
Robinsons offer prices on a wide range
of events from horse racing, to football, golf, snooker, cricket etc. All
prices are on display in our shops and can be easily obtained by phoning free
on the number below. We will also lay the best price available on Teletext
pages advertised by Hills, Corals or Ladbrokes.
