Frequently Asked Questions

Betting Tax - What is it?

A deduction which is taken to cover custom & excise duty, hose racing levy & other statutory taxes. The rate at the moment is 9p in the 1. This can be added onto your stake or will be deducted at the same rate from your total returns.

Starting Prices - Where do they come from?

The SP, as it is known, is the official price of each horse. It is calculated by an odds compiler at the race track by taking the average price of each selection running from the on-course Bookmakers.
The price reflects the amount of money placed on each entry. The more money placed on. The smaller the price will become. Taking this into account you may prefer to 'fix' the price when placing the bet, instead of waiting for the fluctuating S.P (but beware it can work both ways!) We also offer odds on selected races in the morning which can be taken before the course betting starts.

As and independant Bookmaker Robinsons can offer the BEST morning price available.

How can I obtain a price on a paricular sporting event?
